St Lawrence’s is a vibrant, community-minded village school in a beautiful rural setting.  We are looking for a candidate with a child-centred, nurturing approach and excellent communication skills who is keen to join a friendly, encouraging and dedicated staff team, headed by a supportive Senior Leadership Team.

Hours:   8.45am – 12.00 noon, Monday Tuesday to Friday 12.00 noon – 3.15 pm in term time (39 weeks).  Flexibility required

Salary:   NJC F7-10 Hourly rate – £12.59-£13.46 and benefiting from school hours and LA pension.  Please note this figure is based on a full time 52 week contract.


Qualifications Required

  • Teaching Assistant Level 2, a NVQ 2 applicable to the role or comparable Early Years qualification.  Ideally Paediatric first aid trained but training can be offered
  • GCSEs grade C/4 or above or equivalent is needed in Maths and English


Duties and Tasks

  • You will support learning as an Early Years Educator through the planning and delivery of activities and continuous provision
  • You will assess, record and report progress against the 7 areas of learning
  • You will be named as the key worker of individuals and small groups
  • You will contribute to the implementation of effective personal and social skills development within clear boundaries and reinforcing positive aspects of behaviour and independence
  • You will develop positive relationships with parents, carers and families by taking a partnership approach, maintaining and sharing accurate information where appropriate
